Job summary

Jacobs is seeking Staff Archaeologists to support projects across Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, DC, and other eastern geographies. This role involves NHPA/ARPA/NEPA compliance and field monitoring for planning, engineering and construction services to commercial clients.

Hybrid work policy allows split time between Jacobs’ offices/projects and remote locations; frequent travel and long days in diverse conditions are expected. 2+ years field experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Anthropology/Archaeology/CRM.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional archaeological field work.
• Experience in construction monitoring and collaborating with tribal monitors.
• Knowledge of NHPA, ARPA, NEPA, NAGPRA and state regs.
• Experience using GPS tools including EOS, FieldMap, Survey123.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Ability to travel frequently and for long periods.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide cultural resources support for planning, engineering and construction.
• Perform construction monitoring and field surveys.
• Collaborate with tribal monitors and other stakeholders.
• Prepare site forms and compliance reports.
• Travel to project sites; work in varying conditions.
