Job summary

Jacobs is seeking on-call archaeologists to support a range of projects across Colorado, Wyoming, and surrounding western states. The role involves cultural resources work for planning, engineering, and construction, with emphasis on NHPA, NEPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Anthropology/Archaeology/CRM and 3+ years of field experience, including surveying, monitoring, and documentation. A hybrid work model is offered and frequent travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology/CRM.
• 3+ years of professional archaeological field work.
• Construction monitoring with tribal monitors.
• Knowledge of NHPA, NEPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA.
• Colorado/Wyoming state regulations familiarity.
• GPS technology experience.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to walk long distances over varied terrain.
• Willing to travel frequently.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience working independently in field and office.

Responsibilities

• Provide cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction projects.
• Conduct archaeological surveys and construction monitoring with mapping and data recording.
• Document sites through photography and site forms.
• Assist compliance with NHPA, ARPA, NEPA, NAGPRA.
• Collaborate with senior staff and tribal monitors.
• Travel frequently to field sites.
• Maintain safety and work with minimal supervision.
