Job summary

MnDOT is seeking Emergency Snowplow Operators for Bagley and Northome Truck Stations. This intermittent role clears snow from roadways and roadsides to keep travel safe during Minnesota winters.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of related maintenance experience, or a Heavy Equipment Ops program, plus a valid MN CDL A/B with tanker endorsement due within two weeks. Expect unpredictable shifts, nights, and a requirement to be ready within one hour of call.

Qualifications

• One year of experience performing snow and ice maintenance or related roadway maintenance tasks.
• Education can substitute for experience as described (60 sem/90 quarter credits).
• Valid MN CDL Class A or B with no air brake restriction; tanker endorsement within 2 weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Clear snow from roads and roadsides to maintain safe travel for the public.
• Intermittent position with up to 45 days of active work; call‑in as needed.
• Be available to report within one hour of being called; may work nights and varied shifts.
