Job summary

WSP is expanding its On-Call Emergency Management Recovery Cadre and seeks qualified On-Call Emergency Managers to support disaster recovery operations across the United States. Roles require deployment with short notice and travel to client sites.

Selected candidates must be available for rapid deployment, sustain demanding schedules, and manage recovery initiatives with minimal supervision. This is not a full-time position and is project-dependent.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience, including 1+ years in an Emergency Management role (Response, Recovery or related)
• Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related concentration, or equivalent
• Extensive knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Travel required – must be able to travel to client sites
• Ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance policies

Responsibilities

• Lead disaster recovery operations for assigned clients, directing teams through all phases of recovery
• Deploy to Emergency Operations Centers or Field Staging Areas to lead recovery operations
• Supervise and mentor recovery staff across logistics, cost documentation, and resource management
• Oversee analysis of project applications, documentation, and inspection reports for compliance
• Manage a portfolio of recovery projects from initiation through closeout
• Oversee grant management and tracking systems across multiple projects
• Provide procurement, contracting, and grant compliance guidance
• Lead training and onboarding for recovery staff
• Build and maintain client relationships as trusted advisor to agency leadership
