Job summary

WSP is expanding its On-Call Emergency Management Recovery Cadre, seeking qualified On-Call Emergency Managers to support disaster recovery operations. Candidates must be able to deploy anywhere in the United States with 24-48 hours' notice and travel to multiple client sites.

This on-call role is not full-time and is project-dependent, with opportunities across various U.S. locations. A bachelor’s degree and EM-related knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience, including 1+ years in an Emergency Management role (Response, Recovery or related).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or similar concentration.
• Extensive knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Travel required - must be able to travel to client sites as project warrants.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee disaster recovery operations for assigned clients and guide teams through all phases of recovery.
• Deploy to Emergency Operations Centers or Field Sites and serve as the primary contact for client leadership.
• Supervise recovery staff across logistics, documentation, and resource management.
• Assess project applications and reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of recovery projects from initiation to closeout.
• Oversee grant management systems to track progress, status, and funding milestones.
• Provide expertise on procurement, contracting, and grant compliance across disaster funding sources.
• Lead training and onboarding for recovery staff to maintain readiness.
