Job summary

WSP USA is expanding its On-Call Emergency Management Recovery Cadre and seeks qualified On-Call Emergency Managers to support disaster recovery operations nationwide, with deployments to multiple U.S. locations including Sacramento, CA. Roles are on-call, project-dependent, and require travel with short notice.

Selected candidates must be available for 24-48 hour deployments, endure demanding schedules, and maintain readiness for field assignments across the United States.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience, including 1+ years in an Emergency Management role or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related concentration, or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study - Professional Development Series certification.
• Travel required to client sites as project warrants
• Ethical decision-making regarding company funds and adherence to codes of conduct and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee disaster recovery operations for assigned clients, directing teams of specialists through all phases of recovery.
• Deploy to Emergency Operations Centers and Field Staging Areas to lead recovery operations on the ground.
• Supervise and mentor recovery staff across logistics, supply coordination, cost documentation, and resource management.
• Oversee analysis and evaluation of project applications, supporting documentation, and inspection reports for compliance.
• Manage a portfolio of recovery projects from initiation through closeout, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Oversee the use of grant management systems to monitor progress and funding milestones across multiple projects.
• Serve as SME on procurement, contracting, and grant compliance across disaster funding sources.
• Lead training and onboarding for recovery staff and maintain deployment eligibility.
• Build and maintain client relationships, acting as trusted advisor to agency leadership.
