Job summary

WSP USA is seeking experienced On-Call Emergency Managers to support disaster recovery operations nationwide. You will direct teams, coordinate funding, documentation, and rebuilding, and deploy to sites with short notice. This is not a full-time role and depends on project needs.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in emergency management, a relevant degree, and the ability to travel frequently. You will guide procurement, grant compliance, and client communications across multiple deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience, including 1+ year in an Emergency Management role.
• Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or related field.
• Extensive knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Travel required to client sites and deployments as needed.
• Adhere to Code of Conduct and safety policies; uphold workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead disaster recovery operations for clients and teams across all recovery phases.
• Deploy to EOC or field sites and serve as primary client liaison on deployment.
• Mentor recovery staff in logistics, documentation, and grant tracking.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local recovery program requirements.
• Manage a portfolio of recovery projects from initiation to closeout.
• Oversee grant management and tracking across multiple projects.
• Advise on procurement, contracting, and grant compliance requirements.
• Lead training and onboarding for recovery staff to maintain readiness.
• Build and maintain client relationships as trusted advisor throughout recovery.
