Job summary

YWCA of Hawaii Island is seeking an Advocate to join our team. You will answer calls on our 24-hour crisis hotline, respond to text and chat inquiries, provide information referrals, and offer crisis intervention while maintaining client confidentiality.

The role involves in-person work with clients, police, and examiners in post-assault procedures, reporting to the Program Director, and coordinating with other Advocates.

Qualifications

• / crisis intervention experience preferred.
• / excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• / ability to maintain client confidentiality.
• / understanding of mandatory reporting in Hawaii.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls from 24-hour crisis hotline and text/chat lines.
• Provide information referrals and crisis intervention.
• Maintain client confidentiality and follow Hawaii reporting rules.
• Coordinate with Program Director, Therapist, Crisis Coordinator, and other Advocates.
• Complete and submit service documentation within 24 hours.
• Participate in quality improvement and program monitoring.
• Attend mandatory staff trainings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
