Job summary

Hoist & Crane Service Group Inc in Madison, WI is seeking a Senior Technician, a heavy equipment mechanic specializing in modernization and repair of cranes. You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot, repair and upgrade cranes at customer sites, and lead field technicians as the liaison between HCSG management and customers.

This on-call role requires safety-first work, travel up to 20–50%, and willingness to work varied shifts including overtime.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years crane repair and maintenance experience.
• 3–4 years electrical and/or mechanical experience may substitute for crane repair experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Willing to work off the ground at various heights.
• Basic computer skills to use web-based crane inspection programs.
• Ability to communicate well and work independently or as a team.
• Knowledge of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• On-call and provide after-hour services as required.
• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and upgrade industrial hoists and cranes at customer locations.
• Train and mentor field technicians.
• Perform OSHA required hoist and crane inspections and generate inspection reports and repair orders.
• Communicate with Service Manager and Branch Manager to schedule work daily.
• Consult with customers on repair and safety issues and recommendations.
• Maintain all company equipment, vehicle, and assets in safe working order.
• Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely; report deficiencies to supervisor.
• Maintain supplies and materials in the company vehicle.
• Attend trainings and seminars; participate in company programs.
