Job summary
BKF is hiring an on-call Construction Inspector to perform on-site construction inspections to ensure the project is being constructed in compliance with the contract requirements and applicable permits. Responsibilities include field testing, reporting, and coordination with project leadership to address variances from plans.
Candidate must have a college degree or 5+ years in transportation/civil projects, plus 4+ years in supervision/inspection, and a valid California drivers license with a
Qualifications
- College degree or 5+ years of transportation/civil project experience.
- 4+ years of supervision or inspection of engineering construction work.
- Valid California Class C driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Responsibilities
- Inspects and reports on a variety of construction projects.
- Advises Resident Engineer or Agency Project Manager and informs contractors of variances.
- Takes samples, assists in field tests, or refers samples to lab analysis.
- Checks utilities, roadway grades, and sewer/traffic control plans.
- Reviews submittals, RFIs, CCOs, and verifies material compliance.
- Maintains inspection records, daily diary, photo log, and project quantities.
