Job summary

Elderly Housing Development & Operations Corporation (EHDOC) is seeking a Maintenance Person for its Chicago community to perform routine maintenance per Policies and Procedures. Responsibilities include electrical and plumbing tasks, painting, janitorial duties, and safety compliance to keep units and common areas in good condition.

You will respond to requests promptly, participate in a rotation on-call system, and collaborate with the Building Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, Community

Qualifications

Three years building maintenance experience.
Basic Universal License may be completed within the first year.
Ability to take initiative and work independently.
Good verbal and written language skills for the property location.
Understanding of elderly and handicapped considerations.

Responsibilities

Handle routine maintenance projects as scheduled by Supervisor.
Participate in preventative maintenance programs and record work performed.
Respond to maintenance requests within 24 hours or notify supervisor if delay.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests immediately and use call back system if needed.
Be part of rotation call back system including weekends and holidays.
Maintain property grounds, equipment, and safety procedures.
