Job summary

Elderly Housing Development & Operations Corporation (EHDOC) is seeking a Maintenance Person to perform routine and preventive maintenance at the Miami community. You will carry out electrical, plumbing and janitorial tasks, respond to requests, and support safety and turnover activities under supervision.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm with on-call duties for emergencies as needed, and offers benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years building maintenance experience.
• Basic Universal License, may be completed during the first year of employment.
• Good verbal and written language skills in predominant language of the property location.
• Understanding and consideration of working with the elderly and handicapped.

Responsibilities

• Handle routine maintenance projects as scheduled by Supervisor.
• Participate in preventative maintenance and keep records.
• Respond to maintenance requests within 24 hours or notify supervisor if longer response time is needed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests immediately; use the call back system if needed.
• Be part of a rotation call back system including weekends and holidays.
• Participate in safety programs and evacuation procedures.
