Job summary

Elderly Housing Development & Operations Corporation (EHDOC) seeks a Maintenance Person to perform routine and emergency upkeep at the community. You will follow Policies and Procedures, handle scheduled projects, and contribute to safety and cleanliness across the property.

The role requires hands-on trade skills, responsibility for unit turnover readiness, and a commitment to care for elderly residents. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Three years building maintenance experience.
• Hands-on maintenance: plumbing, electrical, painting, janitorial.
• Basic Universal License; may be obtained within first year.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance projects as scheduled by Supervisor.
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs and keep records of work performed.
• Respond to maintenance requests within 24-hour period or notify supervisor with reason for delay.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests immediately and use call-back system when needed.
• Be part of a rotation call-back system including weekends, after hours and holidays.
• Participate in safety programs and evacuation procedures.
• Maintain property equipment per manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Know emergency shutoff systems and secure property in emergencies.
• Perform electrical maintenance on appliances, fixtures, outlets, switches.
• Perform plumbing maintenance on drains, leaks, toilets, etc.
• Help prepare units for turnover (painting, cleaning, repairs).
• Perform painting of common areas as needed.
• Assist in inventory control for parts and materials.
• Maintain grounds and common areas to be hazard-free and clean.
