Job summary

Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) seeks an On-Call Nursing Assistant Certified for the Washington Soldiers Home to provide essential resident care in a skilled nursing setting. Position requires flexibility to cover shifts on a rotational basis, with minimum availability of three shifts per week across two shifts, on-site only.

Responsibilities include delivering skilled nursing care, vital signs, daily living activities, and reporting changes to licensed staff.

Qualifications

Current valid Washington State license to practice as a Nursing Assistant Certified.
Must maintain OBRA certification.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and reach 36 inches for repositioning or supplies.
Strong communication in English for clinical care with residents.

Responsibilities

Assist in delivery of nursing and nursing-related care for Veterans in skilled nursing care.
Record vital signs and document in electronic medical records.
Observe, report, and document changes to licensed staff.
Assist with therapies and treatments under supervision.
Provide activities of daily living support (bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding).
Assist with transfers and positioning; use equipment as needed.
Respond to call lights and emergencies; participate in basic lifesaving procedures.
