Job summary

Washington Soldiers Home, part of the Washington State Department of Veteran Affairs, seeks an on-call Truck Driver 2 to transport residents to medical appointments and support care activities. You will inspect vehicles, secure medications and documents, and maintain logs.

Shifts are rotational with a minimum three per week. Requirements include a valid CDL Class C or ability to obtain one, English proficiency, and at least one year of Truck Driver 1 experience or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in English language and able to read, write, and speak English.
• Valid driver's license and at least one year of experience working as a Truck Driver 1, OR equivalent education/experience.
• Class C CDL with appropriate endorsement as required by state and federal law to operate assigned vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle daily for safe operation via checklist and walk through inspections.
• Drive residents to appointments safely and efficiently.
• Assist residents with check-in, appointment preparation, and post-appointment activities.
