The Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Nursing Assistant Certified for the Washington Soldiers Home. The role supports skilled nursing care for veterans, including daily living activities, vital signs, and documentation in electronic records.

Night shifts run Sun-Thu or Sat-Wed with a 10:00 PM–6:30 AM schedule, and telework is not available. Required WA CNA licensure, OBRA status, and ability to lift 60 lbs are specified.

• Actively participates in the resident’s care plan for the purpose of improving the life and maintaining the safety of each resident.
• Supports and encourages the resident’s involvement in decision making, regarding their daily activities.
• Accurately obtains and records vital signs and other resident data in electronic medical records, including documenting intake and output records. Completes charting daily.
• Observes and reports any changes in resident conditions to the Licensed Nurse. Documents any observations in the resident’s electronic medical record.
• Assists with therapies and treatment under the direction of licensed personnel RN.
• Performs daily living care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, eating, assisting with monitoring/feeding of meals and nourishments encouraging liquids.
• Assists residents with positioning, transferring, and ambulation.
• Assists with range of motion exercises and basic nursing procedures under supervision.
• Monitors resident’s equipment and notifies maintenance as needed.
• Responds to call lights and emergencies; initiates basic lifesaving procedures when required.
