Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change is hiring an Assistant Shop Manager to help lead a fast-paced team on the shop floor. You’ll support the Shop Manager with daily operations, coach staff, ensure swift, safe service, and step in as Manager on Duty when needed.

We provide paid, hands-on training to teach the technical skills and service standards. Take 5 offers a clear growth path and opportunities to advance through performance, with automotive experience valued but not required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to follow and maintain facility and safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Complete Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
