Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking an OHE Lineman A in Mount Airy, NC to assist Journeyman Lineman and Foreman while training. The role focuses on construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, and electrical distribution equipment, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include constructing, maintaining, inspecting lines, connecting and disconnecting devices, pole setting assistance, line switching, and on-the-job training support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical lines.
• Provide technical skills for reliable electrical services for consumers.
• Connect, disconnect, install, remove, move electrical devices at customer facilities.
• Route or reroute power lines around existing lines and structures.
• Inspect or remove damaged power lines.
• Assist in setting or replacing poles, digging holes.
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
• Assist in on-the-job training of apprentices and crew members.
• Submit Apprentice Program documentation timely.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment.
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
• Investigate consumer complaints and perform repairs to energized lines.
• Other duties as required.
