Job summary

Transocean is seeking an Offshore Oiler to monitor performance, lubricate, and maintain engines and mechanical equipment onboard our vessels. The role reports to the chief mechanic or engineers and requires strict adherence to safety and operational discipline. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, RFPEW QMED OILER, MMC, and relevant training; preference for military discharge. This is on-site offshore work with standard safety training and active participation in meetings.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; proof of completion of formal education or relevant craft certificate.
  • RFPEW STCW III/4 (QMED OILER) certification is required.
  • Current MMC and all applicable medical/training certifications.
  • Military discharge preferred for U.S. candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Lubricate gears, shafts and bearings on engines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Monitor temperatures and pressures in the engine room and record readings.
  • Maintain daily log of engine room equipment.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs as directed.
  • Assist with engine and equipment repairs in engine room and workshop.
  • Maintain a clean, hazard-free engine room and workshop.

Basic Computer Skills
RFPEW (QMED OILER)
Military discharge – Preferred for U.S

Education

High School Diploma / Proof of Completion of Formal Education
Trade School or University (preferred)
Current MMC and medical/training certificates
