Job summary

Transocean in Houston, TX seeks a 2nd Assistant Engineer to supervise maintenance and repair of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment onboard the vessel; you will ensure safe operations and adherence to environmental protections.

Reporting to the 1st Assistant Engineer, you will supervise 3rd Assistant Engineer and Motor Operator, with qualifications including a valid 2nd Engineer Unlimited License and relevant trade or university training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; trade or university training preferred.
• Valid 2nd Engineer Unlimited License (Class 2 Motor >3000kW) required.
• Military discharge preferred for U.S.
• Knowledge of technical calculations for safe drilling unit operation.
• Basic computer skills and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and repair of mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment onboard the vessel.
• Ensure safe, compliant operation of rig systems and environmental protection.
• Coordinate and monitor maintenance activities with the engineering team.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency response planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and motor operator; report to 1st Assistant Engineer.
