Job summary

Transocean is seeking an Able Bodied Seaman to perform cargo handling, cleaning, maintenance and other manual tasks on the offshore rig. You will prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces as directed by supervision and assist with preventive maintenance of marine equipment.

You will also conduct maintenance and inspections on gear related to firefighting, lifesaving, safety and watertight integrity, reporting to the Mate on tour with none supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Military discharge preferred for U.S.
• Trade School or University education preferred.
• Able Seafarer credential (unlimited) required.
• STCW 95 II/5 qualification where applicable.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid medical and vaccination certificates for area of operation.
• Norway-specific education requirements as per Havtil ref. activities regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cargo handling duties, general cleaning, maintenance, and other manual labor as assigned/directed.
• Prepare and paint interior and exterior surfaces and equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Assist Mates with preventive maintenance and inspections on marine equipment.
• Maintain and inspect equipment related to firefighting, lifesaving, safety, and watertight integrity.

Education

High School Diploma (U.S.)/ Proof of Completion of Formal Education or Relevant Craft Certificate

Successful Military Discharge – Preferred for U.S.

Graduate of Trade School or University

Valid unlimited Able Seafarer credential

STCW 95 II/5

Basic computer skills

Valid medical examination and vaccination certificates

Norway Specific: Education per Havtil ref. Activities Regulations
