Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • One or more years of sales or customer service in a durable medical equipment environment.
  • Strong data entry, analytical, and math skills; ability to multitask on project coordination.
  • Experience handling customer service issues by phone; familiarity with medical reimbursement is a plus.
  • Knowledge of sleep therapy supplies and equipment and related product lines is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate administrative workflows for HME patients, including clinical and billing support.
  • Support customer service, clinical, and billing functions and follow up with patients.
  • Triage department phone calls and manage office supplies and procurement.
  • Coordinate and track equipment, inventory, and related administrative tasks.

Job Description
Office Home Medical Equipment Coordinator

RHSC is looking to hire a Office Home Medical Equipment Coordinator to join our team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary

This position will coordinate administrative functions and workflows in providing clinical and billing services to Home Medical Equipment (HME) patients. Major responsibility will be to support the customer service, clinical, and billing functions for HME as well as support and follow‑up for HME patients. This position has primarily clerical responsibilities with other duties that include office supply management and medical equipment procurement and coordination. Management and triaging of department phone calls is a major component of this role.

Work Schedule

8:30AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday, possible Saturday mornings

Required Qualifications
  • Education:
    • High school diploma/GED, associates or bachelor’s degree
  • Experience:
    • One or more years of sales customer service experience in a durable medical equipment or business environment with high service standards required.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Analytical, data entry and mathematical ability
    • Moderate computer working knowledge (i.e., Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Ability to multitask and coordinate projects
    • Experience managing customer service issues via telephone
    • Knowledge of sleep therapy supplies and equipment, product lines, and insurance guidelines for reimbursement is desirable
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Advanced degree in relevant medical field (e.g., coding, medical administrative) preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Four (4) years clerical/data entry experience preferred. Prefer previous medical and customer service experience at a Durable Medical Equipment company. Experience with inventory management, electronic health care management software, merchandising and performing retail transactions preferred. Sales and customer service training a plus.
  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Knowledge of the medical customer service is beneficial
    • Advanced working knowledge of electronic medical record systems
    • Phone customer services skills
    • Advanced computer working knowledge (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook)
