This position provides administrative, communication, and programsupport for the Department of Geology & Geophysics and theDepartment of Mining Engineering within the University of Utah'sCollege of Science. The successful candidate will play a key rolein supporting faculty, students, alumni, and departmentalinitiatives across both academic units.
Oversee general office operations. Coordinate all aspects of thedaily office environment including, but not limited to, officemaintenance, ordering office supplies, and other duties to ensurethe office operates smoothly and efficiently. Coordinate officeequipment maintenance and initiate facility repair requests withbuilding management and/or outside vendors. Work closely withexecutives and management on coordination of local culture andengagement initiatives including planning and logistics. Act as theface of the office and develop and maintain relationships withbuilding management services, vendors, caterers, and variousinternal departments. Coordinate and schedule internal/externalmeetings, and conference/video calls on behalf of leaders.

Act as the face of the office and develop and maintain relationships with building management services, vendors, caterers, and various internal departments. Coordinate and schedule internal/external meetings, and conference/video calls on behalf of leaders. May perform other duties including accounting support, reception, facilities, maintenance, supply management, and various back office functions. Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline. Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience).
Department may hire employee at one of the following joblevels: Office Administrator, III: Requires a bachelor's(or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 yearsof directly related work experience.
