This role falls within the Administrative Staff team. This role is an hourly position paid bi-weekly at the rate of $20 per hour. Please note that scheduled hours may be subject to change slightly, due to faculty and staff absences. The start date of this position would be Monday, September 8th, 2025 with training in August.
All Admin positions are expected to attend a Virtual Admin Zoom meeting once a month, as well as a one-time Pow-Wow Training Session, and RBC Orientation in September. You will be paid for this time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Open & close studio
Take student attendance
Interacting with students and parents, answering questions, problem solving
Light facility upkeep - vacuum, trash, etc.
Supplies inventory and upkeep - toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, etc.
Answer phone calls & occasional email
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent organisational and administrative skills with a systematic approach and a keen eye for detail
Excellent time management skills with experience of working on own initiative and the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet stringent deadlines
Excellent communication and customer care skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of people across diverse communities - children, young people, parents/guardians, internal and external artistic and academic staff
Strong IT skills - Google Suites (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.) and other IT and digital platforms. An interest in learning new software.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Appreciation/understanding of ballet or the dance industry
Previous administration or arts administration experience
Sound understanding of the needs and requirements of children and young people, including safeguarding.
Genuine desire and interest to develop a career within education, training, and outreach
TERMS & CONDITIONS
The post is being offered on a permanent basis and will be offered with an initial 6 month probationary period
This position is based at the School's two office premises: The Chapel (88 Milton Road) & The Rye Arts Center (51 Milton Road)
The job is part-time. The general hours of work are 25 hours a week over 5 days beginning at 3:30 pm.This can fluctuate slightly depending on staff absences/subbing.
Attendance at some weekend and morning events may be required including Orientation on Saturday September 6th, Training Session date TBD, and a monthly Administrative Virtual Meeting
In line with School Policy, this post holder may be required to undertake a First Aid course at the beginning of their contract
