Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Quality Control Body Repair Tech II in Riverview, FL, to ensure OEM quality on repaired panels after finishing and painting. You will use buffs and compounds to refine textures and strictly follow SOPs to de-logo and complete refinishing processes.

Role requires buffing experience, a valid driver’s license, and a paint certification. This position emphasizes safety, attention to detail, and adherence to shop procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
2-5 years buffing or body shop experience preferred.
Valid respirator fit test required.
Paint training certification required per HAPS 6H regulation.
Valid driver's license with clean record.
Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
Strong manual dexterity and vision.
Able to stand, walk, bend, stretch.
Color vision and depth perception required.

Responsibilities

Inspect refinished panels for color match and finish texture; report issues to management.
Prepare surfaces for buffing using finish sanding products per SOP.
Restore refinished panels to OEM quality using rotary buffer, buffing compounds and polishes per SOP.
Inspect remaining surfaces for overspray and remove as needed.
Remove and clean all residue from buffed panels and re-inspect finish quality.
Demonstrate safety commitment and support Safety Excellence programs.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
