Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in Tampa, FL is seeking a Quality Control Body Repair Tech II responsible for ensuring OEM quality appearance on repaired and refinished panels after paint application, using finishing abrasives, buffing equipment and compounds per SOP.

De-logoing is required. You will inspect panels for color match, prepare surfaces for buffing, and restore finishes to OEM standards using approved techniques while maintaining safety and SOP adherence.

Qualifications

• HS diploma preferred or equivalent.
• 2–5 years buffing or body shop experience preferred.
• Valid respirator fit test.
• Paint training certification per regulations.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to operate vehicles with both standard and automatic transmissions.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift up to 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect refinished panels for color match and finish quality; report issues.
• Prepare surfaces for buffing using proper sanding products and technique.
• Refinish panels to OEM quality using buffers, compounds and SOP.
• Inspect remaining surfaces for overspray and remove as needed.
• Remove residue from buffed panels and verify finish quality.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in Safety Excellence programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
