Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Quality Control Body Repair Tech II to ensure OEM-grade finishes on repaired panels. You will apply finishing abrasives, buffing equipment, and compounds, following SOPs and maintaining a focus on safety and quality.

The role includes inspecting panels for color match, preparing surfaces for buffing, and restoring refinished panels to OEM standards using provided tools. Light lifting and standing are required in a production environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2-5 years of buffing experience or body shop/repair experience preferred.
Valid respirator Fit Test.
Paint Training Certification as defined in HAPS 6H regulation.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

Inspect refinished body panels for color match and finish texture; report issues to management.
Prepare surface for buffing using appropriate finish sanding products and technique.
Restore refinished panels to OEM quality using rotary buffer, buffing technique, and SOP-specified compounds.
Inspect remaining surfaces for overspray and remove as needed.
Remove residue from buffed panels and verify finish quality.
