Job summary

Cox Automotive in Florida is seeking a Quality Control Body Repair Tech II to ensure OEM quality on repaired panels after paint, using finishing abrasives, buffing equipment and compounds. Adherence to SOPs and de-logoing is required.

You will inspect panels for color match and finish, prepare surfaces for buffing, restore refinish to OEM quality, check for overspray, remove residue, and follow safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Buffing experience in a body shop or similar setting preferred.
• Valid respirator Fit Test required.
• Paint Training Certification per HAPS 6H regulation.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds; stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Inspect refinished panels for color match and acceptable finish texture.
• Prepare surface for buffing using appropriate finish sanding products and techniques.
• Restore refinish panels to OEM quality with rotary buffer and specified compounds.
• Inspect remaining surfaces for overspray and remove as needed.
• Remove residue and inspect finish quality; maintain safety practices per SOP.
