Job summary

DSV Air & Sea Inc., based in Torrance, is seeking an Ocean Import Supervisor to lead the import process for ocean freight shipments and supervise a team of import freight forwarders. This role ensures compliance with regulations and drives timely, cost-effective deliveries.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of ocean import experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and excellent communication skills. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, with proficiency in MS Office and SAP a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• 3–5 years of experience in ocean import operations, including supervisory responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge of import regulations and customs procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and transportation management systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the ocean import department.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
• Supervise a team of ocean import freight forwarders.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for timely, cost-effective deliveries.
• Resolve issues related to customs, documentation, and shipment delays.
• Coordinate with ocean carriers, trucking companies, and service providers.
• Ensure accurate data entry into the transportation management system.
• Provide guidance and training on import regulations and procedures.
• Prepare reports and metrics related to import operations.
