Job summary

DSV — Global Transport and Logistics in the USA is seeking an Ocean Import Supervisor to manage the ocean import process, ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies, and supervise a team of ocean import freight forwarders.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely, cost-efficient shipments, resolve customs issues, and maintain accurate data in the transportation management system while providing guidance on import procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in ocean import operations, including supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the ocean import department.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
• Supervise a team of ocean import freight forwarders.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments.
• Resolve issues related to customs, documentation, and shipment delays.
• Coordinate with ocean carriers, trucking companies, and other service providers.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the company’s transportation management system.
• Provide guidance and training to team members on import regulations and procedures.
• Prepare reports and metrics related to import operations.
