Job summary

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• 3–5 years of experience in ocean import operations, including supervisory role.
• In-depth knowledge of import regulations and customs procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems (e.g., SAP).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the ocean import department.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies.
• Supervise a team of ocean import coordinators/freight forwarders.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders for timely delivery.
• Resolve issues related to customs, documentation, and delays.
• Coordinate with ocean carrier, trucking companies and service providers.
• Ensure accurate data entry into the transportation management system.
• Provide guidance and training on import regulations and procedures.
• Prepare reports and metrics for import operations.
