Qualifications

• 5+ years of ocean freight forwarding experience in either import or export operations
• 2+ years of team leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of ocean import/export procedures, Incoterms, and FMC requirements
• Experience training employees and overseeing daily shipment processing
• Ability to independently resolve shipment problems and customer escalations

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Ocean Import/Export team to ensure shipments are processed accurately and on time
• Assign work, review shipment volume, and support the team as needed
• Manage shipping documentation, customs clearance, cargo movement, customer communication, and billing accuracy
• Resolve delays, customs issues, missing documents, claims, and complaints
• Coordinate with customers, overseas offices, carriers, brokers, warehouses, and truckers to resolve transportation issues
