Job summary

OEC Group is seeking a detail‑oriented logistics professional for our Houston area team. The role emphasizes tracking shipments, maintaining accurate customer data, and efficient communication with internal and external partners to ensure smooth operations.

The position supports a full benefits package and a hybrid work arrangement. Requirements include 1–3 years in ocean export freight forwarding, proficiency in MS Excel, and familiarity with Cargowise.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in the ocean export freight forwarding industry.
• Proficient in MS Excel.
• Cargowise experience, hazmat certification, and general cargo knowledge are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Track, trace, and update shipment status in Cargowise daily.
• Create and maintain customer profiles in Cargowise with detailed information.
• Maintain effective communication with internal and external parties via email, phone, and in-person.
• Generate and monitor reports daily.
• Create invoices for billing purposes.
• Address inquiries and route to the correct department as needed.

About the Position

Duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Tracks, traces, and updates the status of shipments in Cargowise daily by checking the carrier’s website.
• Creates and maintains customer profiles in Cargowise with detailed customer information.
• Maintains effective communication with internal and external parties through a high volume of e-mails, phone calls and in-person interaction.
• Generates and monitors reports daily.
• Creates invoices to be processed for billing purposes.
• Addresses internal and external inquiries and directs to the correct department if needed.

Work Schedule

• Webster Office 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree preferred
• Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry

Salary

$50,000-$60,000 annually based on education and experience level.
