Job summary

OEC Group in New York's New Hyde Park office is seeking an entry-level logistics coordinator with a degree related to Supply Chain Management or International Business. The role involves coordinating air export shipments, creating customer profiles in CargoWise, and maintaining effective communications across departments.

Applicants should have 6 months to 1 year of related experience and a capacity for handling data entry at a high volume.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with airlines to book air export shipments and prepare shipping documents.
• Track and trace shipments and provide updated quotations.
• Create internal customer profiles in CargoWise.
• Maintain high-volume communication with internal and external parties via email, phone, and in person.
• Generate and monitor daily reports.
• Create invoices for billing.
• Handle inquiries and route to the correct departments.
• Ensure documentation meets TSA regulations and dangerous goods requirements.

About the Position

Duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Coordinates with airlines to book air export shipments, prepares shipping documents, tracks and traces shipmentsand provides updated quotations.
• Createsinternal customer profiles in CargoWise to provide all departments with detailed customer information when needed.
• Maintains effective communication with internal and external parties through a high volume of e-mails, phone calls and in-person interaction.
• Generates and monitors reports daily.
• Creates invoices to be processed for billing purposes.
• Addresses internal and external inquiries and directs to the correct department if needed.
• Maintains knowledge of dangerous goods compliance by checking shipping documents and inspecting shipments if needed.
• Ensures that shipments meet the required TSA regulations.

Work Schedule

New York Office 8:30 am – 5:30 pm EST

(Air department is required to work one Sunday per month on a rotational basis)

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Education & Experience

Associate's degree preferred and six months to one year of related experience.

Experience dealing with a high volume of data entry.

Salary

$55,000-$60,000 annually based on education and experience level.
