Job summary

Rivertown Health and Rehab in Alabama is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to plan, organize, develop, and direct OT services in the facility, ensuring high-quality resident care in line with standards.

Status: Per Diem/PRN. Responsibilities include screening residents, developing treatment plans, coordinating with the team, documenting care and billing, and supervising COTA as needed. Active AL OT license required; ongoing professional development encouraged.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
• Active Occupational Therapy license in Alabama (AL) is required.
• Ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain licensure and certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular screening of residents to determine the best intervention or treatment for each patient.
• Evaluate residents to inform and develop treatment plans; establish short- and long-term goals and methods to achieve them.
• Interpret and communicate evaluation findings, treatment plans, and recommendations to residents, families/caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Establish individual resident therapy schedules in cooperation with other team members.
• Conduct therapy according to established treatment plan and ensure proper documentation and billing of occupational therapy services.
• Oversee COTA as needed and ensure documentation and treatments are carried out with clinical excellence and proper reimbursement practices.

• Perform all other duties as assigned and as required to effectively treat patients
• Oversee COTA as needed and ensure all documentation and treatments are carried out with clinical excellence and proper reimbursement practices are being followed

Education & Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy
• MUST have an Active Occupational Therapy license in AL
• Ongoing continuing education and professional development to maintain current licensure and certification
