Job summary

HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide patient-centered rehabilitative care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Under the supervision of a licensed OT, you will implement structured treatment plans and guide patients through therapeutic exercises to improve daily living activities.

The role requires an Associate Degree in OTA, an active OTA/COTA license, 1 year of experience, and a current BLS.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Active state license or certification (OTA/COTA) and a clear background.
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct, age-specific therapeutic treatments and exercises to help patients regain functional independence.
  • Execute intervention strategies outlined by supervising OT, including motor skills training and device instruction.
  • Document patient progress and report updates to the clinical team.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on safe home techniques and daily living strategies.
  • Maintain a safe environment and follow infection control and safety rules.

Job Summary And Qualifications

An Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) administers patient-centered rehabilitative care across inpatient or outpatient settings. Working under a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the OTA implements structured treatment plans, guides patients through therapeutic exercises, and tracks functional daily living progress.

Core Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Deliver direct, age-specific therapeutic treatments and exercises to help patients regain functional independence.
  • Plan Implementation: Execute intervention strategies outlined by the supervising OT, including motor skills training and adaptive device instruction.
  • Progress Monitoring: Document patient response and status changes, reporting updates directly to the clinical team.
  • Education: Teach patients, families, and caregivers safe home techniques and adaptive daily living strategies.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe environment and follow organizational infection control and fire safety rules.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Active state license or certification (OTA/COTA) and a clear background.
  • Experience: A min of 1 year work exp required
  • Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of hire
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently assist, move, or carry patients and equipment
