HCA Florida Brandon Hospital in Brandon, FL is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a full-time basis. You will assist with coordinating patient-centered goals and provide rehabilitation services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

The role emphasizes adherence to established treatment plans, accurate data recording, adapting techniques to patient needs, and proactive engagement to improve outcomes and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in OTA from an AOTA-accredited program.
• Florida license (OTA) active/clear.
• BLS certification current.

Responsibilities

• Follow established treatment plans to reach measurable goals for ADLs/IADLs.
• Record and review clinical data; communicate with the OT about plan modifications.
• Adapt therapeutic techniques under supervision of OT to meet patient needs.
• Participate in rounding and respond to patient needs to improve outcomes.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently looking for an ambitious Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a full-time basis. As a COTA on our team, you will assist with the coordination of patient-centered and occupational-based goals to ensure diagnostic and therapeutic services and rehabilitation which are provided to our patients. Your duties and responsibilities may include:

• Accurately follow established treatment plan to set measurable and achievable goals to reach maximum functional independence for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs)

• Record, monitor, and review clinical data, providing feedback to Occupational Therapist regarding possible modifications to treatment plan and goals based upon patient performance

• Within scope of practice and under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, adapt recognized therapeutic techniques and modalities to meet the needs of the patient

• Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve patient outcomes and positively affect overall patient experience

Requirements:

• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (https://www.aota.org/education)

• Experience in appropriate healthcare setting; acute-care setting preferred

• Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (OTA)

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs
