HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. The OTA will work under a licensed OT to implement structured treatment plans across inpatient or outpatient settings, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and tracking functional daily living progress.

The role requires an Associate Degree in OTA, active OTA/COTA licensure, and at least 1 year of experience, with BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Active state license or certification (OTA/COTA) and a clear background.
  • Experience: A min of 1 year work exp required.
  • Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently assist, move, or carry patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct, age-specific therapeutic treatments and exercises to help patients regain functional independence.
  • Execute intervention strategies outlined by the supervising OT, including motor skills training and adaptive device instruction.

Job Summary And Qualifications

An Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) administers patient-centered rehabilitative care across inpatient or outpatient settings.
