Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, FL seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist to support patients regaining independence and quality of life. You will evaluate needs, design individualized care plans, and provide hands-on therapy across recovery stages.

Working with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver evidence-based interventions, monitor progress, and ensure thorough documentation.

Qualifications

  • State Licensed Occupational Therapist required.
  • Vocational School Graduate.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and develop therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
  • Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions to promote healing and independence.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjust plans, and document outcomes thoroughly.
  • Educate patients and families to build understanding and engagement during recovery.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to ensure safe environments and smooth transitions of care.
  • Lead by example, guiding therapy assistants or students and upholding our mission and values.

Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. Your role will include:

What qualifications you will need:
