Job summary

Ascension seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join the Inpatient Rehab team in Pensacola, FL. This PRN role implements treatment plans, documents patient progress, and collaborates with the OT to adjust goals as needed.

The candidate must have a Florida COTA credential, BLS, and a high school diploma or GED. The role may involve supervising therapy technicians and coordinating discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.
• COTA credentialed from Florida Board of Occupational Therapy prior to hire date.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Implement an established treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document findings of patient progress. Seek consultation as necessary.
• Monitor patient's response to treatment plan. Communicate progress to the occupational therapist.
• Provide discharge planning assistance and information on adaptive equipment and community support.
• May oversee care by therapy 3-Technicians according to regulations and standards.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Implement an established treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document findings of patient progress. Seek consultation as necessary.
• Monitor patient's response to treatment plan. Communicate patient progress and possible goal revisions to occupational therapist.
• Provide discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
• May oversee the care provided by therapy 3-Technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credentialed from the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
