Job summary

Ascension is seeking an Occupational Therapist for the Rehab Services team in Pensacola, FL. You will assess patients, design and implement treatment plans, and document progress while coordinating with OT assistants and technicians.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's/Doctorate preferred) and Florida OT licensure, with BLS/CPR within 1 month of hire. A sign-on bonus of $5,000 is included and the position is full-time on the day shift with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider (CPR) within 1 month of hire date.
• OT credentialed from Florida Board of Occupational Therapy before hire date.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctorate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
• Design the plan of care including type and frequency of treatment; implement the plan.
• Document patient progress and modify the plan as needed.
• Plan and assist with patient discharge and selection/use of adaptive equipment.
• Oversee OT assistants and technicians according to regulations and standards.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
• Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment. Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
• Document findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed.
• Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy 3-Technicians according to established regulations and practice standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Occupational Therapy (OT) credentialed from the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
