Ascension is seeking a qualified professional for the Rehabilitation Services department in Panama City, FL. The role focuses on building relationships with case managers, physicians and referral sources to drive inpatient rehab admissions and ensure proper patient selection with physician collaboration.

The position requires Florida RN, PT, or OT licensure prior to hire, with BLS and driver’s license preferred; high school or higher education path accepted with related experience.

• Registered Nurse credential from the Florida Board of Nursing or Rehab Therapist PT/OT credential from the Florida boards, obtained prior to hire date.

• Participate in development and implementation of business plans for the rehab unit and promotional info for referrals.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Establish relationships and aid with communication to case managers, physicians, payors, patients, families and referral sources in order to generate referrals and drive patient admission volume in the inpatient rehab.
• Ensure appropriate patient selection through clinical chart assessments during on/off-site clinical evaluation of patients in collaboration with the physician.
• Complete in-service and educational opportunities for physicians, case managers, interdisciplinary members and other professionals. Serve as an educational resource to patients, family members and caregivers.
• Participate in the development and implementation of business plans for the rehab unit and contribute to the development and maintenance of referral source promotional information.

What Minimum Requirements You'll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• One or more of the following required:
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy (RPT) credentialed from the Florida Board of Physical Therapy Practice obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Florida Board of Occupational Therapy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drivers License preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
