Job summary

NextGenHealthcare at Ascension Providence in Waco, TX seeks a compassionate Occupational Therapist to develop personalized recovery plans and deliver targeted therapy. The role involves educating patients, documenting progress, and guiding support staff to maintain high care standards.

Required Bachelor’s degree, Texas OT license within 6 months, and BLS within 1 month. This on-site role supports acute care and family education in a Catholic health system environment.

Qualifications

• OT credential from the Texas Board within 6 months of hire date.
• BLS Provider certification within 1 month of hire date.

• Evaluate patient abilities to perform independent living skills and design personalized care plans that promote recovery.
• Deliver targeted therapeutic care while documenting progress and adjusting treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes.
• Empower patients and families through education on daily living strategies, adaptive equipment choices and safe discharge planning.
• Guide certified assistants and support technicians to ensure high-quality care that meets practice standards.

Licenses/Certifications/Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Occupational Therapy (OT) credentialed from the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
