Job summary

Ascension's Via Christi in Manhattan, KS is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess patients' ability to perform daily living activities, design and implement care plans, and educate patients and families. You will supervise OT assistants and coordinate care within regulatory standards in a hospital setting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (Master's/ Doctorate preferred), BLS and Kansas OT licensure, and supports a rotating/PRN schedule within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctorate degree preferred.
• Licensed OT (OTR) in Kansas; BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.

• Assesses patient’s ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills. Designs the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities. Documents findings of patient progress. Monitors and modifies the plan of care as needed. Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to regulations and practice standards.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Rehab Therapist specializing in Occupational Therapy (OTR) credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Occupational Therapy (OT) license credentialed from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's OR Doctorate degree preferred.
