Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II for Occupational Medicine in Bloomington to join a collaborative team supporting employee health and workplace well-being. The role includes direct patient care, lab work, and front-office duties, with a four 10-hour shift schedule, Monday through Friday, no weekends or holidays.

Under supervision, you will ensure accurate clinical directions, maintain EMR records, and contribute to timely completion of orders and referrals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program required.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification required.
• BLS for Healthcare Workers required; other ALS may be required per unit.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
• TB validation or within 6 months of hire preferred.
• Familiarity with Meaningful Use and Standard Work Programs within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and insurance payer basics.
• Ability to perform basic math and accurate data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision and guidance of physician.
• Handle registration and scheduling activities per department procedures.
• Maintain EMR files and perform general front office tasks as needed.
• Precept MA team members or externs as requested by leadership.
