IU Health in Bloomington, IN seeks a Medical Assistant to support the outpatient oncology/hematology clinic. The role includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, and preparing charts under supervision, with duties spanning specimen collection, injections, and test result communication.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or equivalent, 0-2 years of relevant experience, and an active CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAC certification, plus BLS and OSHA/CLIA/ADA knowledge.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Current certification in medical assisting (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA or CMAC).
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification is required.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA.

Responsabilités

• Room patients for multiple providers throughout the clinic.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and allergies.
• Prepare patient charts and review records prior to appointments.
• Assist with laboratory specimen collection and blood draws.
• Administer injections and other provider-ordered treatments.
• Communicate test results to patients under the direction of nursing staff and providers.
• Coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and patient communications.
