Job summary

Concentra in Richmond, VA is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to perform routine medical procedures under clinician supervision and support in registration and referral management. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, assist providers, and conduct rapid screenings while ensuring a courteous, efficient patient experience.

This role requires completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience, with HIPAA compliance and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, OR at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant
• State requirements and regulations compliance related to medical practice

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
• Prepare patients for examinations including vital signs and ancillary testing
• Perform rapid screening tests
• Assist providers during examination and treatment
• Triage and manage emergent patient situations
• Complete front and back office duties and documentation per HIPAA
• Maintain supplies and clean, organized exam rooms
• Operate medical devices and ensure calibration and record-keeping
