Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a PCA Specialist for PRN night shifts 7 pm–7 am. The role emphasizes expert nursing assistant tasks, ADL support, and patient- and family-centered care within unit-defined limits to ensure high-quality outcomes.

As a clinical resource and preceptor, you will mentor other PCAs and collaborate with the interprofessional care team. Proficiency in Epic and MS Office is valued for accurate documentation and coordination.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three years acute care hospital or post-acute care experience or two years EMT/Paramedic experience or GN retaking NCLEX for RN licensure.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and ADL assistance within defined limits.
• Serve as preceptor and clinical resource to PCAs; train and orient others.
• Collaborate with interprofessional care team; communicate and report pertinent patient information.
• Respond to call lights and document care per policy; ensure patient safety.
