Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a part-time Patient Care Assistant/Unit Administrative Assistant (PCA/UAA) in Baytown, TX to support the interprofessional team in delivering high-quality care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

The role conducts ADL assistance, unit coordination, and administrative tasks including calls to physicians, bed management, and documentation. Strong English, basic computer skills, and BLS certification are required.

Qualifications

• 18+ months CNA/CMA/PCA experience
• 1 year of secretarial/office training or 6 months cross-training within Houston Methodist
• BLS certification (AHA) required

Responsibilities

• Answer unit telephone calls and transfers; greet patients and visitors, provide directions and guidance.
• Communicate with peers, physicians and staff to support patient care and problem resolution.
• Assist with ADLs and basic patient care under RN supervision and document care provided.
