Responsibilities

• Schedules elective and urgent cases via telephone and fax.
• Verifies information read-back from phone calls and faxes for accuracy.
• Schedules procedures for The Christ Hospital Surgical Center and anesthesia department.
• Schedules according to block time and monitors case starts to ensure coverage.
• Maintains EPIC scheduling data and communicates with other departments.
• Answers phone promptly and directs callers to appropriate department.
• Maintains equipment availability and coordinates with surgical team.
• Ensures proper coding information for insurance and billing processes.
